Introduction Blog

  • Hi, my name is Logan Wallis and I'm a senior, finance major from Longview, Texas. I am a huge football fan, I love hanging out with my friends, reading, and just learning new things!
  • I want to be better educated on the role real estate plays in the national economy, and in the finance industry specifically. I also want to know what constitutes a good investment in real estate.
  • In the short term I would like to become a financial analyst, but in the long term I want to own my own financial management company.
  • A unique quality of mine is the fact that I've been to over 25 countries all over the world, and traveling is one of my biggest passions.
  • One big item on my bucket list is to travel to Antarctica. I know it's not necessarily very scenic, but I view it as more of an adventure than anything else. Another item would be skydiving, only because heights is a big fear of mine and I feel like facing that fear through skydiving would be absolutely exhilarating.
  • A few of my favorite sites are:
Task #2

Without question the most inspiring parcel of real estate to me is the Sagrada Familia church designed by Gaudi in Barcelona, Spain.

This church is by far the most beautiful cathedral I have seen in all of my travels, and it has a rich history. It has been under construction since 1883, and there is still work being done today! Antoni Gaudi is viewed by most Barcelonians as the greatest architect of all time, and after my mere week in Barcelona, I might have to agree with them. The Sagrada Familia was built entirely based on donations from the community, and is the crowning achievement of Gaudi's work in the city. The cathedral seems to me what architecture should be about, creating beauty in the most fantastic way available at the time of construction. Pictures don't do it justice, but here's a few more.
